Photography Tuition

So...you bought yourself a DSLR and you're struggling to get out of the automatic mode?

We've all been there - all the manuals and online help can only teach you so much but I find one to one tuition really helps.

Beginner Course

Aimed at the complete novice - you'll visit me for a one to one training session in the studio. We'll go through the various settings on your camera and the aim is to get you turning that dial to "Manual" mode.

It's a 3 hour training session.

The first 90 minutes will be explaining the camera settings in depth. (Let me know the camera make and model beforehand so I can research it).

The second 90 minutes will be putting what you learned into practice. I'll book a model and you'll be having your very first studio session. I'll show you how to use a light meter and an introduction into studio lighting so you know the results you get will be bang on - time after time.

At the end of the session I'll give you access to a few web pages I created which will outline what we went through and also the workflow I use on all my studio images. example here

The cost for the beginners course is £60. (Bring a friend and share the cost!)

Please drop me an email if you want to discuss dates

Intermediate and Advanced

Already have a good knowledge of the settings and how your camera works but want to progress to the next level? I don't personally feel qualified to teach you this (I'm still learning) but I do have some excellent contacts who can teach you more about studio photography and outdoor ambient lighting photography.

If you already have a basic understanding of your camera equipment then I can recommend David Worthington and Mick Trafford from www.TakeBetterImages.com. They will definitely help you advance your knowledge and are available individually or as a pair at one of their regular workshops.
